Professor

Beginning as a teaching assistant at The Ohio State University, through on-line instruction at Texas Tech University, to his current position as a tenured faculty member at Northeastern Illinois University, Dr. Johnston has served as professor and advisor to many vocational evaluators and experts working in the field today.  He teaches coursework on vocational evaluation, career development, case management, statistics, and physical and psychiatric impairments. 

Featured Speaker

Dr. Johnston is frequently found presenting his research at national conferences.  Most recently he appeared at the VECAP conference in North Carolina speaking on the impact on employment resulting from psychiatric impairment.

Dr. Johnston is always willing to speak to organizations, agencies, and law firms to help educate and advocate for the rehabilitation community.

Researcher

Dr. Johnston has been contributing to the field of research since his first published article in 2002.  In addition to original, empirical research, he serves on the editorial board of multiple professional journals.  HIs research interests are born out of the questions he is asked during the course of his practice and his desire to generate data to support his vocational opinions.
